Project: Urban Art Actions
Urban Art Action is project dedicated to create synergy of Art and activism thru interventions in public space on issues which are widely recognized by citizens and that are not on daily agenda of politicians, but which are very important for the citizens. Idea of the project Urban Art Actions is to determine, react on and underline micro problems of public spaces, architectural problems and ruined urban infrastructure which citizens are facing every day. Identifying of this problems will offer possibility for citizens and especially to younger generations and artists/architects to adapt proactive approach in solving local problems and to influence with their skills and ideas on variety of community problems in their surroundings.
Project is based on participative models in solving urban problems by conducting different creative actions that include education and connection of artists and citizen activist in over 30 cities in Macedonia, Kosovo and Serbia. Implementation of the project will contribute to achieving positive changing of consciousness of communities and raising of their capacities and self-confidence for future battles for more human and community oriented public space and urban landscape.
The project will be focused on two types of problems – 1. General problems which are floating in the society for years and decades and for which no one (governments, authorities, political parties, civic sector) does not offer solution or intend to initiate or public debate and 2. Local problems (dumps, dangerous parts of buildings, destroyed urban elements...) that will be object of intervention in a way to solve the problem in extremely visible way (exp. filling danger hole on street with pink concrete with smiley on it) that will increase citizens, media and public interest for the interventions and actions and generate new followers of project ideas .
Project Locations
The project is ongoing implemented South Serbia, Macedonia and Kosovo, and it is mainly intended to take place in urban enviornments. More precisely project activities are taking part in Serbia in regions of Nish; Aleksinac, Leskovac, Vranje, Pirot, Preshevo, Vladichin Han, Prokuplje, Blace and Dimitrovgrad, in Macedonia in regions /cities of Skopje, Kumanovo, Panalka, Veles, Kavadarci, Negotino, Prilep, Bitola, Gegelija, Strumica and in Kosovo in Prizren , Suva Reka, Djakovica,Orahovac (Serbian community) Mamusa (Turkish community),Kosovo Polje, Pristina and Malisevo.
